What do I do if someone locks themselves in a room? There is a small hole in the Rosette or Plate on the exterior side of the door that can be used to unlock a “locked” privacy door. Not bad, I can't help but wonder if all the versions out there are the same

It's certainly a beautiful door knob, but I can't help but wonder if these are all made by one company and branded by different vendors...I had an issue installing this one. My current door knob, seems to be too close do the trim? I certainly didn't think so, but this door knob did not retro fit into the current door knob. So I ended up carving a little notch within the door handle opening, so retracting lock could fit. The extra work seemed silly, but that's how I was able to get this one in.It should be easy to install otherwise and maybe your door will retrofit it much better than mine. I'm hesitant to buy more, because all the doors seem to be the same in terms of depth to door edge ratio.Oh, one last thing - make sure to tighten it down well. The rectangle base will shift otherwise and it's very annoying

Very high quality and heavy duty feel to this knob. I really like the size and feel of this item!The only issue may be the finish, it may not match other darker gold fixtures that are more common in ��23 because it is a light gold finish. Also the matt finish does show smudges/grease marks, so be aware of this.

Good quality and easy to install. I bought these to match a designer door knob that was 3 times the price. The main difference besides the price is the location of the lock button. Personally I prefer the lock button placement on these locks.

I bought just one to make sure that it was a quality door knob. It is hearty ant all the inner workings seen very high quality. I am waiting until I have time to install it to be sure and I'll be buying 2 more to replace the cheap ones on my hallway doors. I'm pretty sure they'll be perfect, but I'll change this review if for some reason I'm not happy.

I love the looks of the door knob and the one it replaced was old, cheap and falling apart. (See photos). The weight of this one is substantial and seems to be very well made. I had never taken apart or installed a door knob in my 62 years, but thought I could take it on and I did, but not without multiple tries and frustrating issues. Disassembly was straightforward and simple. It seems installation should have been too, but the directions provided were not tailored for this exact door knob and did not address small but significant facts. One of these was the direction the spindle should be inserted with respect to the notches on it. I did something sufficiently wrong that once I had it all together and looking great, I excitedly closed it, only to find I'd locked myself into the bedroom and it would not disengage, or turn sufficiently to release from the latch plate. I had to take it all apart to free myself! Had the dirctions been clear this would have been a full five stars from me, and for someone handy and experienced it would be a great choice. Having taken on the learning curve I'm going to get some more of this style for the rest of our bedroom suite, at least. Really a nice upgrade.
